Decimals W10

As part of our maths this week we have been focusing on rounding to the nearest decimal point. We have also been looking at what decimals are being used for. Look at my presentation to check out the place values of decimals and what people use decimals for!

Thinkboard

This weeks Thinkboard is based on the volume of the area and Perimeter. The question asked... "The measurements of a cube are 9cm high, 7cm in length, and 4cm in width." To get the answer I used partitioning in time tables. First I did 7 x 9 = 63 x 4 = 252.

Triangle Addition

This is one of my Maths tasks for Week 6. WALT use our solving skills and knowledge of addition to make the number that is provided into the number that is at the top. Our number was 3.518 and we had to find out what the numbers were added up.  There will be something else to do with maths later on this week for everyone to see.

Maths - Think Board

During our Maths time me and and my two friends have filled out the questions that our Maths Teacher Miss Clark has developed. It teaches us what strategy we use to the that question.
We used Place Value.

As you can see on the left side of this google drawing we have 10 similar question compared to the one in the middle. The question asks...
7/12 of 156 =
I did...
12 x ___ = 156 (13)
7 x 13 = 91
So the answer is 91

Thanks for taking the time to read this blog post. I hoped you learnt something!!!!

Mixing with Fractions

For my maths I am with my home teacher Miss Clark. We have different classes we go to and she is my Home and Maths. Me and Arwen chose to do this "Mixing with Fraction" because there wasn't anything else to do. (Because we had finished everything) I really enjoy my maths but the point is I am not good at it. (Yet!) So what we had to do is chose a number and either... Multiply it, Subtract from it, Divide it or this is the most important one. Fraction it. For example... 1/2 of 260 = 80 Do you get it. I'm sure you do. Here is mine and Arwen masterpiece of maths.
