Why I have done a presentation about Whitney Houston?
I done a presentation about Whitney Houston because she is a beautiful singer and she is a lovely women. She is also a heart warming person. I love everything about Whitney Houston. I also done this presentation because everyone can no more about her. I mean sure they can go onto the internet and just type it up but I rather people from around the world, look at my blog and see what I have written about Whitney Houston.

DLO Little Red Riding Hood

Here is our DLO about Little Red Riding Hood. We done this Fairy tale because it is funny and interesting. We also found out what the moral was and what we learnt. We also did this Fairy Tale because we can find out more about it than we do now.

Doing Kapa Haka

In the weekends we went to my aunty’s house. We stayed the night until Sunday, and on Sunday we did Kapa Haka practice. I had to lead 4 Waiata’s during our practice's. I had a lot of fun. Every weekends we have to do our Kapa Haka practice for my uncle’s 50th birthday.

Doing Kapa Haka is alright. It is fun. I like doing to represent my culture.

The brave little Tailor

Title: The Brave Little Tailor

Characters (names, personalities, strengths, weaknesses):

There names are: The Tailor, The 2 giants and the 2 kings.

The tailors personality: He is clever and he is tricky. The Giants Personality: He is so cute and friendly and do what the tailor says.

Setting (Where is the story set. Describe the place in detail): The Tailors store and then into the forest. Then the royal palace. The Tailors store is full of interesting things. The forest has trees, and animals. The palace is so royal and is clean.

What was the problem? The tailor tricking the giants and the kings.

What was the solution? They knew what he was doing.

What was the Moral of the Story? The moral of the story was that the tailor thought he was clever that he could trick the giants and the kings but it did not last that long.

My favourite part of the story was? The giant holding the tree.

The Ugly Duckling

It was a nice hot sunny day. And we were at school. I asked some girls if I could play with them, but they said.... NO. I asked those girls, “ Why can’t I play.” They replied, “ It’s because you don’t fit with us. And because you are so not cool.” After hearing those girls say that I was too shy to ask anybody if I could play with them.

The next day we were in the music room learning a new song for the school. I asked my friend for some help. She said, “ Ummm can’t you figure it out yourself. Stupid”. I couldn’t understand why she was doing that to me. So it was the end of the day, and I knew that I had to do something about it.

So I went home and talked to my parents. “ Mum, Dad, I am getting mocked in school. Nobody in that school accepts me not even the teachers. Can I please change schools.” My mum said, “ Well I will think about it. Give it one more day, and if they keep mocking you then you can change school’s.” So I gave it a day, and it was a same old day as usual. So I told my mum and she put me into a school named Pt England. I was excited.

I went to school and I had friends. The teachers accepted me nobody mocked me. I loved that school. They include me in everything. The students are great, also the teachers. Finally I’m at a school where kids and teachers accept me for who I am. I may not be popular, I may not be pretty. But I am a caring person.

So from that day on, nobody ever mocked me again.

The Day My Nephew Came

During the weekends my little nephew Tyreece came over. Me and my big sister Roseanne and my little sister Stacey-Rose took my nephew to the park. He was on the swings and was having a lot of fun.

After the park we went to Pizza Hut. We brought some pizza and we ate it. When we got home we didn't tell my mum and dad. Though when we got home there was already pizza cooking. So my sisters ate some of the pizza with our parents.

We all had a great day but then my nephew had to go home on Sunday for Kohanga on Monday. I miss my nephew and I wish he was with us right now today.

Hansel and Gretel

Characters (names, personalities, strengths, weaknesses):

The characters names are: Hansel and Gretel, The evil witch, The bad stepmother, And the father of Hansel and Gretel. Also known as the Wood cutter.

Hansel’s personality: He is kind. He knows what he is doing. And he knows how to take care of his little sister. He cares about people.

Gretel’s personality: She is also kind. She knows when to help her brother. Gretel is also clever. Her and her brother Hansel both know how to survive.

Setting (Where is the story set. Describe the place in detail):

Where the story was set: First the story was set in the woodcutter's house with the stepmother. The stepmother was complaining about how there isn't enough food. And they can not feed that many mouths. So they need to get rid of Hansel and Gretel.

Second it was in the forest and Hansel and Gretel didn't know where they were.

Third they found a house made out of candy. And that was the evil witches house. And then fourth was back at their home where they were meant to be.

What was the problem? The bad stepmother was worried because they didn't have enough food to go around. So she told the father/Wood cutter to get rid of his children.

What was the solution? The stepmother had died and the kids were home safe and sound.

What was the Moral of the Story? Was that the stepmother got what she wanted but it didn't last that long. And the kids were safe.

My favourite part of the story was? That they found a candy house and were eating the candy. But not when they get taken by the evil witch.

Immersion Assembly

The bell had rang for the first day of term 3 2013. We all lined up to go to Immersion assembly. I was excited to see what the teachers had planned for us. Room 17 sat down. “ Tena koutou tamariki ma.” Mr Burt said to us. “ Tena Koe Mr Burt.” The whole school replied back to Mr Burt.

Mr Burt said this whole piece of stuff then he said, “ Give it up for Team 1.” Team 1 teachers stood up and did their performance. Then it was team 2, and team 3, and then team 4.

My favourite performance was team 3. They were so funny. Their performance was about, Sleeping beauty, Snow white, and Cinderella. They were on a show and it was about those girls getting a prince. And then they took a look at the prince and was he not good looking for the girls.

So in the end the girls ended up with nobody. Shame on them.

The Hare and the Tortoise

Hello my name is Slow Tortoise. I am named slow Tortoise because I am slow and I am a Tortoise. I have a neighbour named “ Too fast for you.” Too fast for you is a rabbit. He’s always talking about how fast he is. And how he keeps winning races. I don’t listen to Too fast for you because I am too busy chewing my grass.

Too fast for you is such a bully. He makes up names like, Cabbage head, and he calls me ridiculous. “ Why are you like this?” I ask Too fast for you. “ It’s because I am fast and you are a slow Tortoise who likes to sit around all day and do nothing.”

“ Okay then you asked for it. Me and you we will have a race up to that hill over there and back. Tomorrow at noon.” I said to Too Fast for you. “ You and me. Please you have got to be kidding me. You can’t even make it to the gate.” Exclaimed Too fast for you. “ Oh yeah watch me.” I replied back to Too fast for you.

The day had come and the sun was shining. All the animals from the forest had come to watch the race. “ Are you ready, TOO FAST FOR YOU!!!” I said to Too fast for you trying to distract him.

“ On your marks, Get set...... GO!!!”. Yelled the fox. “ See ya... Slowpoke.” Yelled Too fast for you while running. “ Come on you can do it, Don’t give up. You can do it.” I keep saying to myself. I kept encouraging myself, so I wouldn’t stop.

I saw the Harestop. I said to myself “ Phhh.”

As I was getting closer to the Hare I saw him shutting his eyes. I couldn’t believe it. “ I thought he was speedy. I thought he would be running back down towards the finish line by now. But guess I was wrong.”

While walking past the Hare, I was having a little laugh. “ Ha ha ha.” I giggled quietly. I had finally got to the top of the hill. “ Must be Slow Tortoise, must beat Slow Tortoise.” He said in his sleep.

I was half way towards the finish line. By then the Hare had woken up.

He looked down. “ NO.” Yelled the Hare. “ Must beat the Tortoise.” The hare kept saying to himself. I was 5 steps away from the finish line. By then Too fast for you had just got to the top of the hill.

3 steps away from the finish line. By then the Hare was half down the hill. 1 step away. Then I took another step and I had cross the finish line.

“ NOOOOO.” Yelled the Hare. He was angry. “ You were saying.” I said to the Hare while I was having a little giggle.

From that day on, the Hare had never bothered me again. “ Shame on you Too fast for you that a Tortoise beat you. HAHAHA.”

What is a Friend:

A friend is someone you can rely on. Also a friend is someone you can trust. A friend is someone that can cheer you up whenever you are sad.

What makes a good friend:

A good friend is someone who doesn't tell your secrets. A good friend is someone who doesn't pretend to be your friend. Also a good friend is someone you can trust.

Why are your friends important:

My friends are important because, I can rely on them, and they trust me and I trust them. They also don't be dishonest with me and I don't be dishonest to them. I also treat my friends like my family. Friends are one of the most important person you could ever have in your entire life. 

Make sure you do not lose that friend. Because it's the only good friend your ever going to get.

 

Mary's Big Question???

In extension we had to make survey's. We got to choose what to make the survey about. And My survey is about: What kind of lunch do you bring to school. After I sent my form. I got a lot of responses back. And some of them were quite good.
