Netbook Reflection
Furthermore having a Netbook has meant that …. It is fun and quite interesting having a little laptop. Have you ever had a little Netbook. It means a lot to me.
Most definitely the best thing ….. Is that you can play games but no only that you can show your work to everybody. This is FANTASTIC!!!! and amazing.
BAD THINGS
While our Netbook is having to try and reach google it is anoying because then we can’t work faster enough, and when I get spelling mistakes the red under line comes up I get distracted. The hardest thing … Is I can’t focus properly because it is a little bit hard. Sometimes I feel like using a pen and paper and then I feel like using my netbook. I sometimes spend half of my time playing games and the other half doing the right thing but then I still get my writing finished.
Last year I did not like using pen and paper because I am use to using my netbook. I can not wait to take my netbook home.

Alien Snot
What were you doing at school Yesterday? Well room 13 made this gross mixture called Alien snot.
I bet you are thinking, How do you make alien snot? Well, you need a bowl. Then you add a cup of cornflour and then add a little bit of water. Finally you give it a little mix. Then you stir in some green food colouring to make the snot look realistic.
Yucky, slimy snot, that was hard like a rock. When we touched the neon green mixture, it dripped through our hands. Messy and strange it stained our hands.
This whole activity was GROSS!!!!

Thinking Hat
1) Yellow hat.
The Yellow Hat means What did I enjoy this term.
What I enjoy this term is having a netbook, because it is more easier than a paper and pencil and because it faster.
2) Black Hat.
The Black means what things I didn’t like this term.
I didn’t enjoy not knowing my fraction’s. I did think it was enough but I wanted to learn more.
3) White Hat.
The white hat means What did I learn.
I learnt how to work new things on my netbook because it is new and people sometimes don’t know how to work new things. What I learnt how to do on my netbook is to change my backround.
4) Red Hat.
The red hat means How did I feel about my term overall.
What I felt about my term overall is that I have a great time with my class mates you know why is because they are kind to me and they share games with me and helps me.
5) Green Hat.
The green hat stands for what did I find most Interesting
I had find out that there are a ten in a ten that makes a whole. I like fractions. It helps me learn.
6) Blue Hat
The Blue hat means What could I have done better to help my learning
I could have done better at my Fractions. I could have done better on Aussie rules why because I did not know how to do a droppant and a drop pant is a kick.

Aussie Rules
On a cold and blustery Thursday, we played Aussie Rules. Our instructors were Megan and Allysa. So if you want to play Aussie Rules you should go and see Allysa and Megan.
What I found out was that New Zealand has 4 different seasons, and they are, Autumn, spring, Winter, and summer, and that happened all on Thursday afternoon. That’s fantastic. New Zealand is the only country that’s has 4 different seasons in a day. New Zealand is a special country!!!!
When room 13 got there, we had to wait for room 19. Finally they came. Before we could start we had to do a bit of a warm up, but the warm up had no name, so we called our warm up Bumper Jumper. Megan and Allysa gave us a demonstration of what we had to do.
Our first task was to find a partner. Firstly we had to hop on one leg and try bump your buddies foot to make them touch the ground, and if you made them fall that’s a point for you.
Our skill that we were practising was bouncing the ball. We started on our knees at first and then stood up and bounce the ball and finally while running. I now know how to bounce a rugby ball. I thought it was fun.
Base ball is a well known game. Well room 13 and room 19 were playing a game that is slightly like base ball. We had to kick the ball and then Alysa will give you another Aussie Rules Rugby ball so you can run with, but before you get to the first base, you need to bounce the ball, and you need to do that at every single base without stopping on any of them.
We had a great time at Aussie Rules I guess it’s not too bad after all!!!

Ma 'a Nonu
Ma ‘a Nonu
Down the field a cunning plan was placed in the hands of the opposition. The great idea was to tackle Ma ‘a Nonu. Slipping out of the tackle, a bullet pass was thrown to Nonu and score a diving try while waving his hands in triumph. Celebraton was brought to town after the game was won!
Jandals
JANDELS
In New Zealand many people wear jandels in summer, because it is hot. In Australia people call them flip flops. Flip flops is another way of calling them jandels. The reason why people wear Jandels is because sneakers a really hot to wear. So they have to take off their shoes, and that is anoying. That’s why we have Jandels. So in summer people will put on their Jandels, and have nice cool feet.

Badminton
For our third week of playing Badminton Donna was our teacher for the day. Donna was demonstrating what we needed to do, on our backhand and forehand. When Donna finished we went off and tried to do it ourselves. It was tricky, because it was hard serving the shuttle. We were getting frustrated, because when our class mates would serve they would miss. We had to swing it directly at them.
As soon as Donna was ready, we would be ready to play Badminton soccer. It was quite fun. We would laugh and and jump around, it was funny. We hit the shuttles powerfully, and used team work. Sometimes it would feel kind of awkward. Otherwise we enjoyed ourselves.
Our whole class played a game of badminton. There was one side of boys and one side of girls. In the girls team, some girls could not serve properly so Donna had to show them how to serve. We had to learn how to hit safe with a racket. When we were playing badminton we had to do quick body movements.
WE HAD A GREAT TIME AT BADMINTON!!!!!!!!!!

Back to the future 1
Wheels screeched as the car was reversing out of the driveway. Marty spoke nervously to Doc, “Hey Doc, we better back up, we don’t have enough road to get to 88”. Jennifer was bleakly miserable. Doc replied, “Roads. Where we’re going we don’t need roads,” as he pulled down his glasses and pushing buttons. Then the Delorean, flew off with a burst of rocket fueled fire.

William Webb Ellis
From 1750, Rugby school played football where handling of the ball was permitted, however they were not allowed to run with it. There was no fixed limit of players, any number of players were allowed to play on the field, even hundreds. This caused major injuries.
William Webb Ellis ran with the ball in 1823. And by 1845 the first set of rules were written for the new game.

THE BFG BIG FRIENDLY GIANT
Sophie and the giant were in the BFG’s Frobscottle cave, filled with stones, and weird, secret things. “Here we are in my special cave.” said the BFG as he was showing Sophie around. He got out a bottle. Sophie said worringly “What is that?”. The BFG was going to drink the Frobscottle while ignoring Sophie. Then the BFG asked Sophie “Do you want some scrumdidliumptious Frobscottle?”
Sophie replied, “No thanks, I’m good.”

Adding detail to sentences
Adding detail to sentences is really really cool because you can learn better and you can be clever.
Today we learned how to add detail to the front of the sentence and to the back, we had to add great beginnings to the front and great detailed endings to the back.
1. The man who invented the spaceship was Jack.
2. The alien invented the spaceship to fly to mars.
3. The space monkey invented the spaceship so he can be better at flying it.

Reading
I like doing reading because it is lots of learning and lots of fun. Reading can be creative sometimes. For the blues their reading is that you have to draw a bike and turn it into a animation, then write about it and thats what I'm just doing.
Tornado
Tornado
There was a tornado in albeny. When I heard about it on the news it looked kind of scary because when there’s a tornado you might get caught in it and we don’t want any one caught from a tornado. So then I felt sorry for the people that are killed from a Tornado and not just them and the people that has survived and the people that has been injured but still survived. So I went in to my room and I thought what it would be like in a country that had a Tornado. I would feel absolutely scared and frightened and I would be sad if my parents had died in a Tornado. I would be crying looking at their photos, and I will remember the fun we had all together. Lucky that it didn’t happened.
Water
As I slipped into the pool, I dived like a like a dolphin. Coming up from the water, our eyes were stinging red. I blinked away the burn.
Straw Bridges
Straw Bridges
Today miss King gave us the opportunity to build straw bridges. Before we could start building the straw bridges miss King had to tell us the instructions and one of them was to make sure the block could balance on your bridge and a second one was to make sure that when the block go’s on to your bridge your bridge will not fall. So then miss King finished telling room thirteen the instructions then we could go and start building our straw bridges.
The group I was in was my best bff friend witch is in my class Theas group witch is Thea, Jordenne, Lesieli , and Mary witch is me. So we got building, but before we started building our team made a plan but I don’t think our plan didn’t come out right. So at first we were going to do squares but then when Lesieli came she was doing Triangles and then Thea said we had to Triangles because Lesieli did Triangles.

Marble run
MARBLE RUN
On Friday morning miss King told us to make our marble run. Before we could make it we needed to get our stuff. So when Thea and Jordenne and Sela got their stuff, we got building our our marble run.
Before we started building we made a plan and our plan turned out great. So when finished making our plan on our marble run we started building.
So we put the train track together and when we finished that we got the toilet rolls and taped it together. When we finished that we got the toilet rolls and taped it together and while I was tapping it on to the train track Thea put the tissue box under the toilet rolls so the toilet roll can kind of go down a bit. So we put up the Domino's and then we thought it was finished so we had a practice but we were not finished. So miss King came and helped us and she had to adjust our toilet rolls and our track. Then we had a practise and it was fine. So we had to try it again and miss King was taking a video of it running down and while miss King was taking a video it turned out fantastic so then we said “YAY!” we did it. We were proud of our selves and miss King was proud of us. We used technology and team work.

Straw Tower
Straw Towers
Early in the morning we had to make straw towers. First room 13 had to watch a video before making the straw towers. The video was about some children making straw towers, and the video was made in the united states. When room 13 finished watching the video miss King told us to get into a group of six. So when we finished getting into a group of six we got started. Our group witch is Sela, Jordenne, Mary witch is me, Chyna, Lesieli, Iron. The whole class only got 75 straws. So our group got to work. Lesieli done the bottom and Iron was telling us what to do and I was just sitting there. Then I was thinking should I make my own so I can help them go a little bit faster. So I done my own and then Lesieli thought my one was better and straight so did Sela. So they rather helped me instead of Jordenne so then I felt sorry for Jordenne so Lesieli helped me and Jordenne. When Jordenne was building hers, it wasn’t ballanced it was about to fall, myone wasn’t about to fall because my one was neat and tidy. BUT then we didn’t have enough time we only had one minute so we had to rush to put my one on to Jordennes and then miss King said
“okay bring your straw towers on to the blue table” so we put our straw towers on to the blue table and then we had to sit on the mat, then miss king was looking at ours and then Levis team. Then miss King chose Levis team and then levis team won and then I think we came second or Theas team.
Miss King wanted us to do straw towers because we need to learn how to work as a team.

Glee Club
Before the performance started miss M introduced the dances to us. One dance was called the the Pt England way, and the second one was a rap that was written by Lepa and Kalim.
While they were singing, I thought it looked scary and sounded scary too. Then it was time for the second performance and that performance was Lepa’s rap. Lepa was the one that wrote the words Miss Lavakula made up the dance, I just thought it looked fantastic. When the Glee Club finished the performances, the school clapped and the they had to take a bow.

Year 5's Camp
First we looked at the cooking serving tents, I thought that it looked yummy in the cooking tent, and when they had breakfast I felt like having their breakfast because they had coco pops, rice bubbles, and weet bix.
Then we looked at the marquee, and the marquee is like a out side hall cause when its raining they eat in the marquee and when its not raining the eat out side.
Then we looked at the tents, and the had names on them, because if they get lost they can just look at the names on the tents.
Then we looked at the camp fire, and while we were there Whaea Raewyn told us what they were making. They were making damper, and damper is made out of bread, and to make damper sweet you can use golden syrup and you can use saltana's. Whaea Raewyn used saltanas because if you use golden syrep your hands will get sticky and you don't want sticky hands no.
Next Year I am looking forward because what the year 5 and 6 done thats what we are going to be doing.

Japan Earthquake and Tsunami
Japan Earthquake and Tsunami During the weekends Japan had a massive earthquake it was so massive it caused a tsunami. The tsunami was so massive it washed the whole Japan and it even washed out the airport and the airiplain that tsunami was so strong. The people only had 45 minites to get on the hill. 4 people went to the beach and wanted to see what the tsunami looked like. They thought that it was going to be small but it wasn’t it was massive it killed the silly people that went to the beach. They knew that the tsunami was coming because it said on the news, but what they go and do they go to the beach and then the next minite the tsunami comes and they get killed. When the tsunami was flodding down Japan there were these gas bottles and then it caused a fire and the fire was absoulutly big. When the tsunami was getting ready to flood Japan the people were warning the people in Japan straight a way. It was a double disaster because there was a earthquake that’s the first disaster and there was a tsunami that’s the second disaster, that would of been frightining for the people in Japan. This man he was a surviver and he heard that the tsunami was coming and then he went up to the hills but the tsunami never came and then he thought that there was a mistake so the surviver went back to his home and pick up some of his belongings and then when he turned around the surviver got knoked out and when he woken up he was floting on top of his roof. So the surviver was lucky because he survied. He was there for about two, or three days. They said that the Japan earthquake was the best record, because the earthquake caused a tsunami thats why.

Chrstchurch Earthquake Mary
Tuesday the 22nd Febuary there was a 6.3 magnitude earthquake in Christchurch. When the earth was shaking, the building were destroyed, and when the buildings collapsed some people died because they got trapped inside the buildings. 39 people died from the earthquake, and the people that haven’t died they surely must have been injured. The families of people that died would have been crying. Some people that were stuck in the buildings, called the police and the police said to the people that they would be alright. Damage was most severe in the central city.
The people that survived, slept on wooden planks and some of people slept in their cars at this park. Houses were damaged and too dangerous to live in.
